Gary D Schultz

Gary Don Schultz was born March 2, 1946, the son of Melvin and LaRue Broderson Schultz. He passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at his home in Schleswig, Iowa, at the age of sixty-six.
Gary was born in Battle Creek, Iowa. He received his education in the Schleswig Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1964. After completing his education, he moved to Yuma, Arizona and worked with his brother Dewayne for two years. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Peters on July 9, 1966. The couple were blessed with the birth of two children. He then began farming and drove truck before purchasing Purina Feeder Supply Store in Schleswig from his father. He retired in 2008.
Gary was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. He was a loving father and grandfather who loved taking his grandchildren to breakfast at the Family Table and for a snack or treat afterwards. He enjoyed socializing over a cup of coffee with his friends and playing cards. In his leisure time Gary enjoyed fishing in Lake View and area ponds. He looked forward to driving his antique tractors in parades and on tractor runs in various towns.
Survivors include one daughter, April Stender and her husband, James of Schleswig and their children, Shelby and Jordan Stender; one son, Aaron Schultz of Schleswig and his children, Lee, Cole, Jack, Sophia and Lillian Schultz; one brother, Dewayne Schultz and his wife, Denise of Danbury; and one sister, Connie Sheeley and her husband, Larry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; other relatives and friends.
