Gary J Norks

November 23, 1953 — August 19, 2014

Gary Joseph Norks was born November 23, 1953 in Aurora, Illinois to Earl and Alice Norks. He passed away August 19, 2014 at his home in Dow City, Iowa at the age of sixty.
Gary graduated high school with the class of 1972. Gary was blessed with two children from his first marriage. He then took some classes at Bemidji State University in 1993. He was united in marriage to Natalie Jean Reandeau on January 22, 1999 in Roseau, Minnesota. He then worked on the line building Polaris snowmobiles in Roseau and worked as a security guard at various businesses. His family moved to Crawford County in 2002, finally settling in Dow City. He then worked security at Tyson and Liberty Food at Farmland.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, assembling model cars, and working on the Titanic. In his free time he liked to read mysteries, spend time with friends and family, and watching TV, especially Saturday morning cartoons. He also occasionally enjoyed a social drink with family and friends. Gary loved fishing anywhere he could, but he especially loved fishing at the Lake of the Woods. He even tried to figure out a way to take his granddaughter fishing with him and how he could put her car seat on his walker so he could be near her. Gary was close to his two dogs and two cats; they were his pride and joy. Family was the most important to him, however, as he adored his grandchildren.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, a daughter, Janet, and two granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Natalie; five children, Cory, Toby and his wife, Mary, Alvin, Charity and her fianc, Edward, and Becky; nine granddaughters; one grandson; and many relatives and friends.
