Glenn Leslie North was born January 25, 1942, the son of Sears and Olive (Dowling) North. He passed away on September 4, 2015, at the Nebraska Medical Center at the age of 73.
Glenn was born in Carroll, Iowa, and was baptized into Christ at the Vail Presbyterian Church. He started his education in Vail and moved to Dow City School in the third grade. Excelling in football, basketball and track, Glenn graduated in 1960. Following his graduation, Glenn joined the National Guard and was enlisted from 1961 until 1967. He began working for IBP in 1961 and continued working there through his retirement in 2002.
On November 11, 1962, Glenn was united in marriage to Jacqueline Boger at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City, Iowa. Later, they became members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City. The couple was blessed with three children: Pam, Deb, and Nathaniel.
Following his retirement in 2002, Glenn was able to enjoy working on the farm and taking full advantage of his well-earned free time. Farming was the joy of his life. Numerous Saturdays were spent at the sale barn and auctions, many accompanied by his son.
Most importantly, Glenn was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed every moment spent with his family, including hosting weenie roasts on the farm.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents: Sears and Olive; his sisters: LaNora, Mary Lou, and Olive May; his brothers: Arlo, Jim, and Don. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline; two daughters: Pam and husband Aaron; Deb North; one son: Nathaniel; four grandchildren: Celesta, John and his wife Carmen, Amber and her fianc Matt, and Kathryn; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Loren, and Kelby; two sisters: Arlene, and Shirley; one brother: John and his wife Angie; two sisters-in-law: Beverly; Brenda and her husband Rick; one brother-in-law: Richard and his wife Carol; many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends
