Gloria Smith, resident of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009, in Corsicana at the age of fifty-four. She was born in Ida Grove, Iowa, on October 26, 1954, to Bud and LaJune Weidemann Obrecht.
Gloria was baptized in Christ on March 6, 1955, and confirmed on May 5, 1968, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. She attended school in Schleswig and graduated from Schleswig High School with the class of 1972. She was employed as a supervisor with Russell Stovers in Corsicana, Texas, for 11 years.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. When she wasnt working, she devoted her time to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and was known to have a "green thumb." Other favorite activities included refinishing old furniture and going to garage sales..
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, LaJune Obrecht and her brother, Keith Obrecht. She is survived by her loving companion, Jack Wayland "T-Bone" McClellan Jr. of Corsicana; two daughters: Tasha Smith of Ennis, Texas; and Dani Boulware and her husband, Shade of Corsicana, Texas; one granddaughter, Harper Boulware; her father, Bud Obrecht of Schleswig; three sisters: Linda Henningsen and her husband, Howard of Denison, Iowa; Brenda Ernst and her husband, Scott of Sioux City, Iowa; and Marla Teut and her husband, Alan of Schleswig; one sister-in-law, Sandy Obrecht of Vail, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
