Helen Jepsen

Helen Marie Jepsen was born June 12, 1920, the daughter of Peter and Ida Heide Jensen. She died Friday, April 1, 2011, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety.
Helen was born in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on July 23, 1920, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and later confirmed there on April 14, 1935. She received her education in Goodrich Township Country School. She was united in marriage to Louis Jepsen on November 26, 1941. The couple made their home on a farm in Goodrich township where they were blessed with the birth of two daughters. In 1962 they moved to a farm near Arion, Iowa, and later moved to Denison.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting doilies for her family and afghans as a graduation gift for her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping with her daughters in Omaha, playing cards, polka music and square dancing. She also enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas with Louis, Hawaii with Connie and her family, and California with Roseann and her family, and traveling on bus tours to New York and Washington D.C. Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, their Ladies Aid, Church Crafts, Farm Club and several card clubs.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis in 1980, one son-in-law, Paul, and one brother, Arlo. Survivors include two daughters, Roseann, and Connie and her husband, Bill; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;one sister-in-law, Darlene; other relatives and friends.
