Helen Marie Houston was born July 11, 1945, in Dunlap, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Lorena Berens. She passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Denison Care Center at the age of seventy-four.

Her years of employment included working at Dubuque Pack, being a homemaker, owner of a bar and then trucking from which she retired in 2007.
Reading novels and love stories was her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed poker playing as well as other cards, watching Everybody Loves Raymond and Iowa Hawkeye football, camping in Yuma, Arizona, and visiting with friends and family.
