Ida A.P. Bohm

Ida Anna Paulina Bohm was born May 22, 1910, the daughter of Heinrich and Lena Hast. She passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of one hundred four.
Ida was born in Washington Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized July 13, 1910 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buck Grove, Iowa and later confirmed there on November 14, 1937. She was united in marriage to Edward Bohm on December 17, 1927 at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Denison, Iowa by Rev. William Freese. They made their home on a farm near Buck Grove and were blessed with the birth of five children. The couple moved to Denison in 1976. Edward passed away in 1988 and in 1997 Ida moved to the Eventide Senior Housing. In 2005, she made her home in Eventide Lutheran Home.
Ida enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed playing cards, the challenge of working puzzles, and watching “Wheel Of Fortune.” Some of her special times include fishing with friends at Lake Osakis, Minnestota and Lost Island, Iowa. She was a volunteer for the Denison Senior Center from 1985 to 1998. While attending church at St. John’s in Buck Grove, she was a member of their Ladies Aid. In 1976, she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and their Dorcas Society. She did quilt-tying and sewing for Dorcas.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Loyd; one son-in-law, Ralph; two brothers, Alfred and his wife, Katherine; and August and his wife, Emma; and two sisters, Minnie and her husband, Philip; and Irene. Survivors include: two sons, Edward and his wife, Karen; Donald and his wife, Oline; two daughters, Della; and Betty and her husband, Clyde; one daughter-in-law, Nancy and her husband, Glen; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
