Ina M Kleckner

Ina Marie Kleckner was born March 15, 1917, the daughter of Archie and Hermina (Minnie) Mahoney. She died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Eventide Lutheran Home at the age of ninty-eight.
Ina was born in Sac City, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ, April 25, 1917, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and confirmed March 29, 1931 by Rev. William Frehse. She received her grade school education in Sioux City, Iowa before moving to Denison during 7th grade, and graduating from the Denison High School on May 23, 1935. During her senior year in high school, Ina worked for Norelius Law Firm.
On September 6, 1936, Ina was united in marriage to John (Jack) Grill and the couple was blessed with the birth of one daughter, Jacqueline. Ina was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. When WWII broke out, Ina worked for Council Oak Store, rationing food stamps. She also worked for various retail stores including J.C. Penny’s and Kelly’s Jewelry. Due to Jack’s failing health, they bought a 5th wheel camper and moved to Alamo, Texas. Ina joined the Lutheran Church and was very involved in the Ladies Aid, LWML and Altar Guild. Jack died in 1976, and Ina stayed in Texas for the next 21 years. On January 19, 1974, Ina married Bernard Kleckner at the Lutheran Church in Alamo, where they enjoyed traveling, taking tours and going on cruises. Ina led yoga classes for nine years and made two yoga tapes. She also enjoyed aerobics, swimming and walking.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Jack and Bernard; one brother, Archie; four sisters: Geneva, Lorena, Rachel and Gladys. Survivors include: one daughter, Jackie; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
