Irene E. Eggert

Irene E. Eggert was born April 14, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Ella (Boger) Schramm. She passed away January 12, 2022 at Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colorado. Attaining the age of ninety-six years, eight months and twenty-nine days.

Irene was born in Denison, Iowa and received her education in Denison. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.

On December 17, 1944, Irene was united in marriage to Harold Eggert at Zion Lutheran parsonage by Rev. C. W. Schmidt. The couple lived on the family farm in Hanover Township and were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Connie and Diann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eggert; granddaughter Kari Dix, siblings; Richard Schramm, Eddie Schramm, Hattie Myers, Marie McCord, Lorraine Gunderson, Eleanora Miller, Vera McLean and two infant sisters.

Over the years, Irene worked at Montgomery Wards and Hyde's Variety Store. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, playing cards, Sudoko puzzles and crocheting for everyone. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Connie and her husband Kurt Crispin of The Villages, Florida and Diann and her husband David Keating of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren: Brenda Lee of Iowa City, Matthew Crispin and his wife Micki of Walford, Iowa, Vicky Weige of Glendale, Arizona, Kyle Crispin and his wife Laura of Clear Lake, Iowa, Patrick Keating of Aurora, Colorado, Raymond Dix and his wife Paula of Palo, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Kurtis Dix, Jamie Lynn Crispin, Grant Weige, Alex Crispin, Parker Crispin, Corey Crispin, Erin Weige, Cael Crispin and Megan Dix; other relatives and friends.

Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Interment is in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
