Ivan O. Malone

Ivan Otto Malone was born April 25, 1944 to the son of Tom and Bertha Fraizer Malone. He passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Bergen Mercy Medical Center in Omaha Nebraska at the age of 72.
Ivan grew up in Arion, IA and received his education in the Arion Community school. He became interested in heavy equipment at a young age. After completing his education he want to work for Guy Riddle, moving homes where he worked for several years. He then became involved with dozing and farming.
Ivan was united in marriage to Edna Marie Miller, August 19, 1961 in Maryville, MO. The couple were blessed with three children. After marriage he worked for Maynard Ohl Dozing and eventually moved to Willie, IA working as a farm hand. The couple eventually returned to Dunlap, IA to work for Bill McDonald running a dozer. He then went into a dozing business w/ his brother Jerry and over a period of time the 2 separated and he continued w/ his own dozing business. Charlie Green got Ivan interested in farming which he pursed to the day he passed along w/dozing, his own trucking company, tires, batteries, and fencing.Ivan enjoyed fishing at Big Stony Lake in MN in his younger years.
He was also very happy spending time traveling around with Edna and the grandchildren looking in the groves for old equipment which to him was new. He taught several people tricks of the trade to all of his businesses.In his spare time he enjoyed looking at his cattle, tractor and dozing magazines. Most of all he loved spending time w/ his son-in- laws and all of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vivian, six brothers Jerry, Fred, Sam, Duane, Norman, and Benny. He is survived by his wife Edna of Dow City, three daughters Sheri Shumate and her husband Clay of Dow City, Ronda and her husband Kevin Aikman and Penni Coenen and her husband Russ all of Buck Grove. Four grandchildren, three great grandchildren. One brother Max and his wife Clara Mae of Dow City, Opal Bramley of Solider. Other relatives and friends.
