James Allen Segebart was born in Denison, Iowa, March 25, 1953 the son of Ernest and Mildred Ladehoff Segebart. He died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids, Iowa at the age of sixty-one.

Following graduation, James attended a meat cutting school in Sioux City, Iowa and subsequently worked for World Wide Meats in Denison for a short time before enlisting in the US Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Denison.
In his leisure time, James enjoyed Pheasant hunting in the area and fishing in local ponds and the Red Rock Reservoir. He loved socializing with family and friends and always had a joke or two that kept the conversation moving. Even after his health deteriorated, he still enjoyed the laughter. James enjoyed reading western stories, western history and was fond of country and western music. He collected Indian artifacts that included: statues, pictures, wind catchers and other items of Indian folk lore. His talent was extended to putting together large portrait picture puzzles that were glued and framed. Each portrait inspired special meanings to those who viewed them.

Survivors include: four sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, June and Evelyn; three brothers, Ernest, Charles Sr. and Bill; thirty three nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
