Janet Louise Cornelius was born January 7, 1940, in Aspinwall, Iowa, the daughter of Wilmer and Berdine Ehrichs. She passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of seventy-eight.
Janet was baptized in Christ September 22, 1941,at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa, and later confirmed her faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa, on April 3, 1955. She received her elementary education in the Aspinwall School and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1958. In 1958, Janet was united in marriage to Walter “Bud” Kroll. On August 23, 1975, Janet was united in marriage to Ted Cornelius at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa, and was employed in the bookkeeping/accounting field.
In her leisure time, Janet enjoyed playing bingo, cards and traveling – most memorable being trips to Switzerland, Germany, France, Egypt and Israel. Janet was an avid football fan, following the Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes. She also enjoyed volunteering her services for the church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ted; three sisters: Beverly; Debra; and Judith and her husband, Louis “Buzz”. Survivors include: one daughter, Karen and her husband, Joseph; two sons, Byron; and David and his wife, Cindy; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Barbara and her husband, Roger; Bonnie; and Sandra and her husband, Eugene; two brothers: Rev. Randall and his wife, Robin; and Thomas; four stepchildren: Steven and his wife, Julie; Marcia and her husband, Michael; Cathy; and Janet and wife, Nancy; seven step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
