Jannel K. Underwood

Jannel Kay Underwood was born April 4, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Kathleen Leitz. She passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of sixty.
Jannel was baptized in Christ April 26, 1959, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa, and confirmed her faith April 7, 1974, at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa. Jannel received her education in the various places she lived which included Grandview, Missouri, Grand Island, Nebraska and Yokohama, Japan. She graduated from Charter Oak High School. Jannel was united in marriage to Robert Meeves, Jr. and later to Ted Underwood. She was a homemaker and was employed at various restaurants and for Staley’s Catering.
Her favorite pastimes included crafts and painting them, rock hunting, playing board games and card games, especially Aggravation. She also enjoyed watching movies, except animated films, but would never finish watching them.
Jannel was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Shelly, and Nathan; one daughter, Maddison; three grandchildren, Kimarie, Ashlyn and McKenna; three siblings, Brent, Denise and Jeanette; other relatives and friends.
