Jeffrey Louis Petersen

Jeffrey Louis Petersen was born on April 24, 1956, to Louis and Lorna (Deiber) Petersen in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized into Christ on May 27, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and later confirmed, also at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison on March 22, 1970. Jeff graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1974. Following high school, he worked as a farm hand in the local area. Jeff married Janice Hagemann on December 11, 1976, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He then worked in a beef meat packing plant for over 13 years. Jeff later started building firetruck apparatuses.

Jeff enjoyed playing basketball. He and Janice enjoyed line dancing and bowling. He cherished coaching his children in their various sporting activities. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jeff died at home on November 20, 2020, at the age of 64 years, six months and 28 days.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his five children, Jeremy Petersen of White, South Dakota, Jacqueline (Carl) Petersen of Fremont, Nebraska, Jedidiah Petersen of Hooper, Nebraska, Joshua Petersen of Brookings, South Dakota, and Jordan (Kristin) Petersen of Elkhorn, Nebraska; five grandchildren; sister, Vicki (Frank) Koeppe of Mapleton, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
