Jerald James Campbell was born May 2, 1953, at Denison, Iowa, the son of Lowell and Neta Fretz Campbell. He passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his home in rural Denison, Iowa, at the age of sixty-five.
Jerald was a 1971 graduate of Denison High School and then was employed at Oakland packing plant before returning to Denison to begin farming with his dad. He later purchased land in East Boyer Township and farmed that as well, raising stock cattle, chickens, etc.
On September 26, 1975, Jerald was united in marriage to Deborah Lamaak at Charter Oak, Iowa, and they were blessed with the birth of four children. Jerald’s life was dedicated to farming. He just loved farming and was a good steward of the land. He taught his children a good work ethic and devoted his life to the land.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, parents, one sister, Joann Woebke and her husband, Marvin, and one brother-in-law, Ron Halla. Survivors include: his wife, Deborah Campbell of Denison, Iowa; two daughters, Jennifer Schurke and her husband, Karry of Denison, Iowa, and Jessica Johnston and her husband, Jacob of Ames, Iowa; two sons, John Campbell and his wife, Jessica of Vail, Iowa, and David Campbell and his wife, Sarah of Denison, Iowa; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Halla of Hinton, Illinois, and Dorothy Landgraf and her husband, Larry of Ida Grove, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
