Jerry Meseck

Gerald Delaine Meseck was born July 3, 1950, the son of Delaine and Erma Samuelson Meseck. He passed away at his home in Charter Oak, Iowa, on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the age of sixty-one.
Jerry was born in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ at the United Methodist Church in Charter Oak, Iowa, on October 8, 1950, and later confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak on December 21, 1972. He received his education in the Charter Oak-Ute Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1968. After completing his education, following the death of his father, Jerry began farming. In 1972, he joined the National Guard and was stationed in Ft. Polk, Louisiana. He was united in marriage to Jenell Bielow on September 1, 1972. The couple made their home in Charter Oak and were blessed with the birth of three children.
He worked at Montgomery Ward in Denison, Iowa, until the store closed in 1977. He then went to work at the Goodyear Tire Company in Denison. When Goodyear closed its operation in 1981, Jerry began working at the Moorehouse Supermarket in Denison. In 1983 he went to work for Charter Oak Grain, which later was managed by Charter Oak Ag Supply.
His main interest was in cars, especially his 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, which was completely restored and kept in meticulous condition. He was also fond of his Oldsmobile Cutlass. He recently acquired an interest in football, with his favorite team being the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed watching western movies and wrestling on TV with his grandchildren, socializing with his close friends, and was a good friend to his dog, Charlie.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jenell in 1999; and one son, Jeremy. Survivors include two daughters, Jenniferand her husband, Tim; and Jessica, and her special friend, Mike; seven grandchildren; Kristin, Tyson, Kayla, Katie, Tyler, Trinity, and Blake; three brothers: Byron and his wife, Barb; Dave and Jim; other relatives and friends.
