John C. Peterson

John Charles Peterson was born September 20, 1955, the son of Charles and Delores Pelley Peterson. He passed away at his home in Denison, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the age of 57.
John was born in Denison, Iowa. He received his education in the Dow City Community Schools graduating with the class of 1975. John played football while he was in high school. He worked for several area farmers after high school and then moved to Texas and was employed at the Houston airport in the baggage handling department. He came back to Denison to help care for his father and began working at the Boyer Valley APC Rendering in 1998. He was in process of receiving his 15 year service plaque this year.
John was a giving and caring person and always happy. He was particular about the way he kept things and very organized. John was a huge Denver Bronco football fan and loved entertaining at his home. He liked to watch Steven Seagal action movies on television. John was well known for his grilling, especially his beer chicken on the grill. He enjoyed gardening and fishing for catfish and bass. John was a patient teacher when it came to fishing and loved to take along his nieces and nephews, Austin, Aidan, Evan, Jorge, Gabby, and Samantha, and especially Ethan. John liked to play and deal Black Jack, was a great bowler, and a member of the USBC Bowling League. He was like a big brother to all of his cousins.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and one daughter, Angel Ann Trierweiler in infancy. Survivors include his aunts: Marie Petersen and Lorraine Bral, both of Denison; Ruth Quandt of Carroll, Iowa; special cousin, Ann Slater and her husband, Brad of Dow City, Iowa; several other cousins, other relatives and friends.
