Johnnie Ray Teneyck

July 12, 1954 — October 22, 2014

Johnnie Ray TenEyck was born July 12, 1954, the son of Darrell and Betty TenEyck. He passed away October 22, 2014 at his home in Ute, Iowa, at the age of sixty.
John was born in Pisgah, Iowa and attended Dow City Community Schools, graduating with class of 1972. Over the years he was employed at IBP, owned several local bars, a truck driver, was the owner of TenEyck and Son’s Trucking in Denison. John taught his family the value of family time. He loved to go to the races to watch his son and daughter-in-law race. He taught his boys how to ride motorcycles, “the faster the better.” He was an avid race fan, his favorite car being #22T. He loved family vacations especially those to Las Vegas where he was known as “Diamond John”. He also was a Bobcat and Hawkeye fan. John was very proud of NA and his sobriety, receiving his 10 year sobriety chip on May 15th. His pride in his own sobriety motivated him to help others with theirs.
John was a very kind and compassionate man whose big heart was evident every day of his life. He would go without to ensure that his family could have whatever they wanted. He loved to help anyone and everyone who needed it. He was a very proud father and grandfather, being very active in their lives and supporting them in everything they did. Teja and Jeffi becoming his constant companions and spoiling them just a little or just a lot..
