Johnny E. Wilbanks

Johnny Ervin Wilbanks was born February 20, 1954, in Oklahoma. He passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, at the age of sixty-five.
Johnny received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma and was employed as an engineer in the oil fields, working in many countries. Johnny enlisted in the United States Army on January 25, 1972, serving in active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm as a light wheel vehicle mechanic. He was honorably discharged August 31, 1992. Johnny was united in marriage to Ying Lu Wang June 20, 2006 in Kaifeng, China, and the couple made their home in Charter Oak, Iowa.
Enjoying time outdoors, Johnny spent many pleasurable days fishing particularly in the Gulf of Mexico and in China and hunting deer and wild boars. He also enjoyed motorcycles, engine repair and driving truck. He liked to watch television and college football. He was a dog lover, especially his dog Eddie.
Survivors include his wife, Ying Lu; other relatives and friends.
