Judith, more affectionately known as Judy, Elaine (Lambert) Deiber was born on July 18, 1950, the daughter of Winfred and Helen (Grell) Lambert in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized and later confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City. Judy received her education from Dow City High School and graduated with the class of 1968.
Judy married Terry Wallace Deiber on April 17, 1971, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City and they were blessed with one son, Dan. After making their home in the country between Dow City and Charter Oak, she worked at the Crawford County Bank before transitioning to a role at Job Corps as a residence advisor. Her passion for helping others led her to work closely with mothers and their children as an RA, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Judy's unwavering dedication to this career path spanned many years, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Following retirement, her and Terry worked a rural paper route together. Their partnership symbolized their deep bond as they loved spending their time together.
Judy had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her joy. An avid reader, she found solace in the pages of books. She also enjoyed the challenge of putting together puzzles and expressed her creativity through cross-stitching and quilting, especially when creating special keepsakes for the newest additions to her family. She also enjoyed watching westerns and playing cards. Antiquing was another passion she shared with her husband, Terry. Judy will be fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family. She made countless sacrifices and always placed the needs of others above her own. Her loving nature extended to her grandchildren and great-grandson, Garrett, whom she adored with all her heart.
Judy passed away on July 5, 2024, at the Denison Care Center at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 17 days.
