Kathleen A. Petersen

Kathleen Ann Petersen was born July 17,1918, at Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Selma Molony. She died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-eight.
Katie, as she was known, received her education in the Denison schools and was a graduate of Denison High School. On November 29, 1936, she was united in marriage to Cyrenus Petersen in Schleswig where they made their home. She spent her life as a homemaker and worked as a server in area establishments and in particular at Fat’s Place in Schleswig for thirty years. Playing cards was a favorite pastime for her and she was a member of various card clubs and of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cyrenus, on July 23, 1999; one brother, Joseph; and three sisters, Nellie, Eileen and Inez;. Survivors include: two sons, Craig and Chuck and his wife, Janet; one daughter, Janice; four grandchildren: Shannon, Jordan, April and Ashley; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace; other relatives and friends.
