Kenneth E. Schnuettgen

Kenneth Eugene Schnuettgen was born August 4, 1961, in Harlan, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Linda Schnuettgen. He passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019, at his home in West Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of fifty-eight.
Kenneth received his education in the Denison Community Schools and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1979. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country as a munitions specialist and spent a couple years in Germany. Kenneth was honorably discharged in 1983 and was awarded an Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter (Rifle) Marksman award.
Following his discharge from the service, Kenneth was employed in Denison and Carroll at Farmland and in construction. In 2008, he began his career as a mail clerk with the Department of Veterans Affairs-Veterans Benefit Administration in Des Moines, where he was employed at the time of his death.
Regional fishing and hunting were a few of his favorite pastime activities. He was a great fan of the Beatles and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Eugene. Survivors include: his mother, Linda; two sisters, Dena and her husband, Nick, and Sara and her husband, Ron; one brother, Jeff; a niece and nephew and other relatives and friends.
