Kenneth H. Aldag

Kenneth Henry Aldag was born December 23, 1922, in Ida County, Iowa to Theodore and Alma Aldag. He passed away Monday, October 1, 2018, at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of ninety-five.
Kenny was baptized in Christ on February 11, 1923, and confirmed his faith April 10, 1938, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. He received his elementary education in the rural school near his home and then began his farming career, moving with his family to a farm south of Deloit in 1939. He was united in marriage to Erna Mae Keesling on December 4, 1949, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stockholm Township, by Rev. L.S. Winter. The couple lived on and farmed the home place, where they raised hogs, chickens, and cows. Kenny farmed the land until the early 1970's, when they moved to their home in Deloit, but maintained his cattle herd for another twenty years. When he wasn’t farming, Kenny enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing cards. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, showing them his cattle and giving rides on his tractor. At the time of his death, Kenny was living at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison.
Possessing a strong faith, which he would express publicly, Kenny was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, treasurer, elder and usher, and in his later years, Kenny passed around sermon tapes to shut-ins and did custodial work.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Erna Mae; one daughter-in-law, Gloria; two brothers, Merlin and Lowell; and two brothers-in-law, Donald and Jerry. Survivors include: two sons, Glen; and Gene and his wife, Rebecca; two daughters, Judy and her husband, Duane; and Cindy and her husband, David; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce, and Joleen; one brother, Ted and his wife, Marla; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
