Kolton Benjaman James Segebart was born March 16, 2001, at Denison, Iowa, the son of Benjaman and Amy Segebart. He passed away at his home in Dow City, Iowa, on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the age of sixteen.
Kolton received his education in the Dow City Schools and was currently attending high school at Boyer Valley in Dunlap. He was employed by Dunlap Plumbing and Heating after school and wanted to go into law enforcement after graduation.
Hunting, especially bow hunting while sitting in a tree, fishing and trapping in local farm ponds and the Boyer River were his favorite pastimes. He was a very competitive person, trying to top his dad at fishing or anything they did. Kolton loved his dog Harley, enjoyed Soldier steak night, and mowing the lawn with his John Deere mower. He worked hard, was a good student, never complained or asked for anything, and loved his family, even though he was always a prankster and tried to scare them.
Kolton was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda and his great-grandfather, Ray. Survivors include his parents, Ben and Amy; two sisters, Kelsi, and Kayli and special friend, Kyle; grandfathers, Jim and Bill; grandmother, Myrna; great-grandmother, Melba; two aunts, Tammy and her husband Mike and Lori and her husband Juan; special cousins, Rachel, Mandy, Heather, Megan, Amber, Natalie and Payton; and special friends, Corey, Jodi, Eastyn and Kelan; other relatives and friends.
