Ladonna A. Lapel

LaDonna Anna Lapel was born March 27, 1929, the daughter of Heinrich and Bertha Noelck Luetjens. She passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-three.
LaDonna was born in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on April 28, 1929, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and later confirmed there on April 18, 1943. She received her education in Denison and graduated from the Denison High School. After completing her education, LaDonna worked in Omaha for several years, many of them for Woodmen of the World Insurance Company.
On February 25, 1967, LaDonna was united in marriage to Wilbert Lapel at the First Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Denison.
LaDonna was devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church and their Voters Assembly. She was also a member of Zions Ladies Aid where she served as past president and at present time was serving as secretary and attended several Bible classes. Serving her Lord was a very important part of her life. She loved traveling to Oregon and Texas with her husband in their Airstream Trailer. In her leisure time LaDonna enjoyed embroidering, counted cross-stitch, visiting, and playing cards with her dear friends. She was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1996 and one brother, Harold Luetjens. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Carol Lapel of Lincoln, Nebraska, several cousins and many dear friends.
