Lagene R. Kuehnhold

Lagene Rae Kuehnhold was born May 6, 1963 in Denison, Iowa the daughter of Raymond (Dick) and Mary (Jean) Carey. She passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 55.
Lagene was baptized and confirmed at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail, Iowa. She attended AR-WE-VA School in Vail, Iowa until her freshman year then graduated from Denison High School in 1981. After High School she worked many years at the Eat Mor and Trio Caf.
On March 21, 2001 Lagene married Tim Kuehnhold in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 18 years they never spent a day apart. They worked side by side for many years in the family disposal business until she found her new calling in 2009 with the Denison Community Schools as a lunch lady. She loved working with the kids and took her job very seriously but also brought a lot of fun to the workplace. Lagene loved spending time decorating her home inside and out with bright cheery colors that perfectly reflected her personality and while at home she loved spending time with her beloved cats Smoky, Alley, and Fred. Lagene also loved her family and friends. She always made sure everyone had a happy birthday wish and a thoughtful gift wrapped with pride. Lagene also liked doing research on the computer, crafting and especially loved going on shopping trips with her best friend Kelli, which she called her Kelli days. Lagene was the most beautiful selfless person inside and out. She had the most infectious smile and joyful laughter, her strength, courage, and optimism were inspiring to the end. Lagene will be deeply missed, but never forgotten or replaced.
She was preceded in death by infant brother Ray Jr., father Raymond, father-in-law, Wayne and other relatives. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Tim; her mother, Mary; brother, Ronald and his wife, Tisha; two sisters, Mary and Teresa and special friend, Bill; mother-in-law, Gloria; grandmother-in-law, Irene; two brothers-in-law, Dean and his wife, Beth, and Chris; three sisters-in-law Denise, Janeen and her husband, Dana, and Dena; other relatives and friends.
