Larry Dean Clemons was born December 3, 1957, at Harlan, Iowa, the son of Vincent and Alice Clemons. He passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at his home at rural Manilla, Iowa, at the age of sixty.
Larry was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Irwin, Iowa. He was a 1976 graduate of Irwin-Kirkman High School and then continued his education by taking college courses for business construction. On March 14, 1980, Larry was united in marriage to Deette Anderson at a family home near Lewis, Iowa and they were blessed with the birth of three children. He was employed at the water treatment plant in Irwin until 1988, then began his employment with Kenny Buck at Alfonso Construction which later became known as Ten Point Construction, doing construction and mechanical work. He was still employed at Ten Point at the time of his death. Larry was a member of the fire department and of Pheasants Forever.
In his leisure time, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things and listening to Shania Twain and AC-DC. He was particularly close to his grandchildren and wanted to teach them something with a smile and enjoyed watching them play on the farm. He was very proud of his redheaded grandchild with spunk. Larry was passionate about everything and gave it his all. He wanted to care for others and not to be cared for.
