Larry G. Stark

Larry “Sod” Gene Stark was born November 28, 1956, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Ewald and Irene Stark. He passed away peacefully at his home in Wall Lake, Iowa, Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Larry was baptized and confirmed in Arcadia, Iowa, and received his high school education in the Ar-We-Va school district, graduating from Ar-We-Va High School with the class of 1975. Larry was united in marriage with Jacqueline (Greenstreet) on November 7, 2014.
Larry was known as “Sod” or “Sod Buster” by all. He enjoyed playing football in his high school years. There was never a dull moment at any of the games that he played. He worked on the family farm with livestock and helped with the crops, also helped out neighbors with their crops. He enjoyed socializing with family and many fun-loving friends. Larry was always ready to go put a worm on the hook and see what kind of fish were biting that day. Many a time he would ride along with friends and go pheasant hunting. He enjoyed planting a garden and always wanted his lawn looking nice. Larry worked at Cookies Food Products for 25 years, after which he retired.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Ewald; sister, Darlene; and brother, Donald. Survivors include: his wife, Jackie; his son, Adam (special friend Vanessa) and children: Isaiah, Connor, Karter and Devon; mother, Irene; Jackie’s children: Brandon (Tammie), Caden, Gavin, Lily; Angela (Jack), Riley Jo; and Kimberly (Jordon), Cheyenne, Cecilia; his three sisters: Marilyn, her children, Pamela, Alison, Thomas; Diana (Doug), her children, Jessica (Matt) Cantrell, Evan, Lauren; Andrea (special friend Michael); Emily (Donte),Vivian; Michael (fiancee’ Lisa); and Bonnie (Steve), her children, Jeff (Hollie), Braydon, Cameron, Nolan; Sarah (Tom), Sydney, Calvin, James, Henry; extended family and friends.
