Leola D. Schultz

Leola Doris Schultz was born June 25, 1933, the daughter of Theodore and Alverta Sheer Hauschildt. She died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty.
She was born in Danbury, Iowa and baptized into faith on August 1, 1940 and later confirmed April 10, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. She attended elementary school in Ida Grove and high school in Schleswig. She worked with Ray Moeller candling eggs. On July 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Virgene Schultz at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Schleswig, Iowa. They were blessed with birth of two sons.
Leola was very happy and fun loving with a great sense of humor. She loved being silly with her grandchildren, and was often found playing down on the floor with them. She liked music and could play the piano by ear. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, vegetable gardening, bowling in a couples league, playing cards in a card club, riding horses and getting the cattle. Summers she would vacation in Okoboji. She was an excellent baker and was known for her delicious cakes, pies and homemade rye bread. She loved to give bread to people that would not accept payments for things that were done for her. She was an active member of Immanuel’s Ladies Aid.
Leola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgene; and two sisters Eileen Auen, and Betty Lou. She is survived by two sons, Craig and his wife; Brian and his wife, Jill; two special nephews, Kurt and his wife, Gail; Kenton and his wife Lana; five grandchildren; Maddie and Macy; Jessica; Adam; Alex; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Delores; Yvonne and her husband, Richard; Jo Ann and one brother, Wilber and his wife, Marge; one sister-in-law Karen; one brother-in-law Wally; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
