Lila Mae Wessel Kline was born March 1, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Freda Rademacher Wessel. She died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 87.
Lila was born on a farm near Charter Oak, Iowa. She was baptized on August 11, 1934 at St. John Lutheran Church, in Charter Oak and confirmed February 11, 1945 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City. On June 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald Kline at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple made their home near Charter Oak and later moved to Schleswig. They were blessed with the birth of four sons. Lila worked at Fat’s Place and did housekeeping.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Lila entered Eventide Lutheran Home in December 2009.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; daughter-in-law Patricia ; two brothers: Lloyd and wife Lorraine; Delmar and wife Gladys; three sisters: Dorothy, Lois, Florence and husband Henry; brothers-in-law: Oluf, Edward , Vahn , Harvey and his wife Mildred; Herbert and wife Gilma; Ben; Orris, Carl; sisters-in-law: Sadie and husband Tony; Helen and husband Solon, Lola and husband Roy. Survivors include four sons: Carey of; Terry and wife Nancy of; David and wife Michelle; and Dennis and wife Lori; twelve grandchildren: Terri, Martin and husband Steve; Cozette and husband Jerry; Lonna and husband Randy; Stacy and husband Scott; Troy; Trevor; Nicole; Chad and wife Katie; Tanya and Brady; Joshua; Emily; Tyler; fourteen great-grandchildren: MacKenzie, Logan, Madison, Chase, Hunter, Trey, Tayten, Olivia, Alexandra, Dallas, Calvin, Brooklyn, Ezabella and Landon; two very special nieces: LoAnna Meier and husband Don; and Vicki Worley, all of Carroll; three sisters: Esther, Helen, and Leva; one sister-in-law Audrey; other relatives and friends.
