Linda Jean Boeck was born May 2, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur and Betty Marth Kuhlmann. She passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 62.
Linda grew up in Charter Oak, Iowa and attended St. John Lutheran Church there and was confirmed in 1964. She received her education in the Charter Oak Community School graduating with the class of 1968. After graduation she became a licensed cosmetologist. In the early 1990s Linda went to work for Denison Community Schools as a cook, retiring as head cook in 2011. On February 17, 1973, Linda was united in marriage to Kevin Boeck at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and to this union was born two children. The couple made their home in Denison and built a farm together. In recent years, she worked with Kevin to build his trucking business.
Linda was a natural born caretaker, always there for her family and friends, and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Her loyalty was incredible and she was extremely reliable; honesty was important to her. Linda was an excellent cook and baker. She was adventurous in the kitchen, always trying new recipes, tasting new foods, and she enjoyed talking about food. No one ever left her home hungry or without having tried her latest new creation. Linda valued hard work and loved to be outdoors mowing the lawn or caring for her spectacular flower garden. She was an accomplished horsewoman and was especially fond of Appaloosas. She also bred and raised Maine-Anjou cattle. Linda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents; one brother, Michael in infancy; and her parents-in-law, Russell and Marian Boeck. Survivors include her husband, Kevin; one daughter, Melissa Kaub and her husband Hal; and one son, Joel Boeck and special friend Angel Lawrence; all of Denison; four grandchildren: Wyatt, Maci, Mylie, and Stetson Kaub; one brother, Donald Kuhlmann and his wife, Teri of Charter Oak; one sister-in-law, Jean Heiden and her husband, Jerry of Schleswig, Iowa; three brothers-in-law, Dale Boeck and his wife, Phyllis of Wellington, Colorado; Mike Boeck and his wife, LeAnn of Freeport, Illinois; and Mark Boeck and his partner, Michael Londra of Ames, Iowa; twelve nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and great nephews; aunts; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Kevin is extraordinarily grateful to Linda for her constant
support and care; to him, she was perfect in every way.
