Lois H. Schroeder

July 23, 1933 — April 4, 2016

Lois Helen Lutts Schroeder was born July 23, 1933, the daughter of Fred W. and Hattie Lutts. She died Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-two.
Lois was born in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ, May 10, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church and later confirmed March 21, 1948. Lois received her education in the Denison Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1951. She continued her education and attended Iowa State Teachers College from 1951 to 1954. On June 27, 1954, Lois was united in marriage to Leo Schroeder and they were blessed with the birth of three children. The couple made their home in South Dakota, and in 1960 moved to Billings, Montana. In 1974, Lois moved back to Denison and was employed by Wesco Industries until the time of her retirement in 2004. She was very dedicated to her job and commented that she needs the people she worked for as much as they needed her. Her concern for her job and her family filled her life.
Lois loved reading, games, crosswords, gardening and especially her family. Her grandchildren’s success in life was so important. “They could be whatever they wanted to be. Set your goals and then work for them” she told them. The words of her grandmother always influenced her life, “Kindness should be given freely-it’s very cheap, it costs nothing.”
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; one son Gregory; one sister Sarah Jane. She is survived by one daughter, Lori; one son, Scott and his wife, Kellie; one daughter-in-law, Dena; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one stepsister, Joann; other relatives and friends.
