Lorna M. Winsor

Lorna Mae Winsor, 86, of Schleswig, Iowa, was born on May 2, 1932, the daughter of Allan and Theresa Johannsen. She passed away October 21, 2018, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa.
Lorna was baptized in Christ July 10, 1932, and confirmed her faith April 14, 1946, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa, where she was a lifetime member. Lorna received her education at a country school and at Schleswig Community School, graduating with the class of 1949. During high school, she was employed at the drug store in Schleswig.
Having met Kenneth Winsor while roller skating, Lorna and Kenneth were united in marriage on June 11, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. Their union was blessed with four children: Peggy, Mark, Marsha, and Lori. Being a sweet, quiet and reserved lady, Lorna was a devoted farm wife and loved her family which included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing, camping, and boating.
She was preceded in death by her parents Allan and Theresa; son Mark; daughter Peggy; brothers Dale and Roger; and son-in-law Donald. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Kenneth; two daughters: Marsha; and Lori and her husband, Russ; six grandchildren: Heidi (Ryan); Adam (Kerrie); Justin and special friend Amy; Heath; Calvin; and Trisha (Jay); nine great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Tanner, Ethan, Patience, Marley, Paron, Avery, Sydney, and Autumn; one sister, Myrna; two sisters-in-law, Janet and Edna. She also leaves behind numerous loving family and friends.
