Louis Raymond Duncan

Louis Raymond Duncan was born March 4, 1939 to the late James and Mary (Bauman) Duncan in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. He received his education from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and Denison High School.

After graduation, Louis enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country from 1959 - 1962. On August 2, 1969, Louis was united in marriage to Evelyn Stensrud at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Together, they have a blended family, Louis's daughter and Evelyn's three sons.

Louis was an avid motorcyclist, traveling all over the United States. Every winter, Louis and Evelyn would snow bird in Texas. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and playing cards. He never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was very devoted to his faith.

Louis passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Reed Place in Denison attaining the age of eighty-two years, seven months and twenty-one days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Duncan; son: Mike Stormer; brother: James Duncan; sister: Noreen Didier; brothers-in-law: Lou Demers and Curtis Ericson.

Left to cherish his memories, his children: Deb and her husband Rick Barnett of Schleswig, Jerry Stormer and his wife Marsha of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, David Stormer of Boone, Iowa, 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters: Delephine Demers of Storm Lake, Iowa, Bernadine and her husband Don Tegels of Fonda, Iowa and Kathryn Ericson of Carroll; sister-in-law: Linda Duncan of Manilla; brother-in-law, Phil Didier of Denison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. Inurnment with Military Honors is in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
