Luella Reincke

Luella Adela Reincke was born April 12, 1922, the daughter of Thomas and Dora (Lafrenz) Schroeder. She passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-nine.
Luella was born in Denison, Iowa, and baptized in Christ on June 9, 1922, and confirmed on March 21, 1937, by Pastor William Frese. She attended school at Goodrich No. 3 country school. Her family moved from the farm to Schleswig, Iowa, in December of 1944. She worked for several families in Schleswig before she was untied in marriage to Ralph Reincke on September 15, 1948, by Pastor Frederick Wiese at the Lutheran parsonage in Schleswig. Ralph and Luella were lifetime members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig.
They farmed for several years and after retiring in 1973, they bought a house in Schleswig. Ralph and Luella enjoyed over thirty years of retirement. Their favorite pastime was to go on rides in the country by themselves or with friends, bird watching, and putting puzzles together. Aunt Luella, known to her nieces and nephews as "Tanta" Luella, was a very loving and kind aunt. She always had a smile and a giggle that will be missed.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; brothers: J. Henry and Anna; Cornelius and Elsie; her mother and father-in-law, Harold and Christina; and brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Elvira. Survivors include nieces and nephews and their families: Marlene and Wilbur "Sonny"; Mary Ellen; Judy and Gary; Tom and Nancy; and Jolene and Jim; other relatives and friends.
