Marcella F. H. Namanny was born February 15, 1923, the daughter of Otto and Ella Keller. She passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-one.
Marcella was born in Ute, Iowa and attended country school through 8th grade. Marcella was united in marriage to Elmer Namanny on December 28, 1941. They had two sons, Gerald and Richard.
Marcella was a very strong willed and forth right woman who’s independence was evident. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and baking; blitz cake, cream puffs, apple pies made with Jonathan apples and German rye bread were her specialties. She would share her baked goods with people who had helped her. She enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music and watching her sons play baseball.
She is survived by one son, Jerry and his wife, Sheryl. Also two grandsons, Adam and his wife, Michele and their children, great-granddaughter, Brynna, and great-grandson, Carson; Andrew and his wife, Cloudy, and their children, great grandson, Nathaniel, and twin great-granddaughters, Mindy and Stacy. Also one sister, LaRue; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; her son, Richard; one brother-in-law, Francis (Butch) Quandt; and one sister-in-law, Leona Burr.
