Margaret J. Wohlers

Margaret Jane Wohlers was born October 27, 1945, the daughter of Louis and Mildred Williams. She died at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, on Friday, December 2, 2016, at the age of seventy-one.
Margaret was born in Carroll, Iowa and grew up in Coon Rapids, Iowa. She attended the Coon Rapids Community Schools where she graduated with the class of 1964. She continued her education at Buena Vista College graduating there with the class of 1968. After completing her education, she taught first and second grade at the Manning Elementary School for four years. On August 12, 1972, Margaret was united in marriage to William Wohlers. They settled in Denison, where she substitute taught at Denison Community Schools for many years. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Jennifer.
She and her family are members of the United Presbyterian Church in Denison, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In her leisure time, she collected teddy bears and enjoyed reading books. Her greatest pleasure was attending her grandchildren’s various school activities. She loved the Iowa State Fair, which she attended almost every year since she was a child.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Bill; her daughter, Jennifer; four grandchildren, Emily and her husband, Ryan, Austin, Luke and Bennett; her brother-in-law, Ted and his wife, Linda; nephew, Brian and his wife, Michelle and their children, Evan and Jenna.
