Margaret S Nagl

Margaret Susanne Nagl was born November 19, 1953, the daughter of Lawrence and Bernadette Gallagher. She died at her home Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the age of sixty-one.
Margaret was born in Denison, Iowa and grew up in rural Westside. She was baptized in Jesus Christ and confirmed at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. She received her education at Kuemper Catholic High School, graduating with the class of 1971. After completing her education, she lived and cared for her husband's grandfather while working at the Carroll Health Center. She was united in marriage to Larry Nagl, April 28, 1973, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. She worked at GE approximately 20 years. After leaving GE when they closed the plant, she worked for Moorhouse Ready Mix in Carroll, Iowa. She also drove a school bus for special needs children attending the Carroll Community Schools. She retired from both in 2014, resulting from failing health due to cancer.
She was very organized, an excellent bookkeeper, and enjoyed taking lots of pictures. She was an active high school wrestling mom and enjoyed all children’s activities but especially, her children and their events. She loved baking and decorating cakes for special events that include baptisms, confirmations and weddings to mention only a few. In her leisure time, she could be found at home or visiting her children and grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She was a physically and emotionally strong and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and welcomed everyone into her home. Her devotion to her Lord and Savior is evidenced by her faith and prayers. She prayed the Rosary frequently and always preached that people should respect one another.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law. Survivors include her husband, Larry; one daughter, Angie and husband, Karl and their son, Chase; three sons, Curtis and wife, Victoria and their children, Finn, Georgia, Vivian and James; Lucas and wife, Amanda and their children, Bo and Conner; Marcus and wife, Nicole and their children, Henry and Lucy; her sisters, Cecelia and husband, Lawrence; Mary and husband, Russ; Patricia and husband, Mike; Phyllis; Geri and husband, Kevin; Therese and husband, Mark; brothers, Cornelius and wife, Carol; and Damian; mother-in-law, Sylvia; many other relatives and friends.
