Marge M. Benson

Marjorie Mae Benson was born November 9, 1936, at Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of BG and Nina Harris. She passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one.
Marge received her education and graduated from Earlham High School with the class of 1954. On February 13, 1955, Marge was united in marriage to William Benson at her parents’ home in Earlham, Iowa, officiated by Rev. Overholtzer. The couple later made their home in Schleswig, Iowa, and were blessed with the birth of five daughters. Marge was employed for a time at Lyon Publishing, taking pictures and writing articles for The Schleswig Leader.
Marge was a very fun-loving person, and was competitive when it came to board games, loved trips to Sloan and enjoyed playing monopoly with her children and grandchildren. Reading was a special passion and she documented all of the books she read. Her favorite leisure time activities included playing the piano, knitting, playing cards – especially euchre, pitch and schafkopf, and league bowling with Bill.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Kenneth; and one granddaughter, Lauren; and son-in-law, Craig. Survivors include husband, Bill; five daughters: Tina and husband, Brian; Chris; Sharon; Della and Jerry; and Kim and husband, Brad; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ashley and husband, Nesffy and son, Brandon; Robi and husband, Corey and son, Reznor; Cody and wife, Susan and daughter, Xani; Aleisha and children, A.J., James, Wyatt, Payton and Paige; Maggie and husband, Brian, and daughter, Avery Mae; Abby; Mackenzie and Macy; one sister, Bonnie; one sister-in-law, Cozette; other relatives and friends.
