Marian Quandt

Marian Quandt was born October 24, 1932, in Goodrich Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Dora Jepsen. She passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four.
Marian received her education at Goodrich #3 rural school near her home. On April 5, 1953, Marian was united in marriage to Melvin Quandt at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak and they were blessed with the birth of four children. She was baptized January 1,1933, at United Church of Christ in Schleswig and confirmed on October 8, 1954, at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. After her marriage to Melvin, they farmed in several locations in Crawford County until 1973, when they moved to Denison. After retiring in 1993, they moved to Schleswig.
She was involved with the Ladies Aid and quilting group as well as being a member of several card clubs. Marian and Melvin enjoyed square dancing, polka dances and watching the Molly B Polka Show on television on Saturday nights. She enjoyed watching TV, reading newspapers and fiction novels, embroidering, playing cards, flower and vegetable gardening and knew every flower and information about them. Baking, especially cookies with the grandchildren, brought her great enjoyment. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and especially enjoyed family gatherings.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alfred and Leonard, and one sister, Lamorne. Survivors include: her husband, Melvin; two sons, Randy and his wife, Sherri, and Roger and his wife, Dina; two daughters, Susan and her husband, Jeff, and Cindy and her husband, Keith; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddchild; one sister, Elaine and her husband, Kenny ; other relatives and friends.
