Marion Hoffmeier

Marion Maxine Hoffmeier was born June 9, 1930, the daughter of Phillip and Minnie Hast Didier. She passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty.
Marion was born in Buck Grove, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on June 13, 1937, and confirmed on April 2, 1944, at St. John Lutheran Church in Buck Grove. She received her education and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1948. Following graduation, she attended Normal College and then taught rural school in Washington Township for three years. On August 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ralph Hoffmeier at St. John Lutheran Church in Buck Grove. The couple was blessed with the birth of five sons.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who found great joy in spending time with her family. She collected antiques, antique glassware, owls and cake plates. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, doing crafts, and working on puzzles. She enjoyed socializing; playing cards while socializing; playing Bingo; listening to music, especially country music; watching TV, especially Law & Order SVU and CSI; and shopping. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison where she served on the Altar Guild and as President of the Dorcas Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph in 2006; two sons, Dennis and Kevin; one daughter-in-law, Diann. Survivors include three sons: Byron; Loren; Ron and his wife, Cindy; one daughter-in-law, Deb; one brother, Phil and his wife, Norene; two sisters: Betty and Donna; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
