Marita Ann Lingle was born March 4, 1943, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Orville and Madonna Christiansen. She passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison Iowa, at the age of seventy-seven.
Marita received her education in the Denison Community School. She was united in marriage with Allen Lingle September 9, 1961, and the couple was blessed with four children. Marita was employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Denison for 30 years. She had a nickname everyone called her Meme. She loved the outdoors, camping, birds and her two cats, Louie and Rainy. Marita cherished the times spent time with her grandchildren and being the oldest of ten children kept her on her toes. She was an amazingly strong willed mother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by many.
Marita is preceded in death by her husband Allen; son Jeff; and daughter, Pennie; one brother, Ted; three sisters, LaDonna, in infancy, Becky and Teresa; and one brother-in-law, Larry. Survivors include one son, Bryan; one daughter, Jodi and her husband, Chad; seven grandchildren, Haylee, Riley, Lily, Bryson, Alec, Cade, and Casey; two great-grandchildren, Kaisnn and Everett; seven sisters, Pat, Kay, Debbie, Kelli, Kristi, Beth and Kathy; and so many other relatives. Our hearts bleed for what we have lost-however she will be welcomed with open arms, up above by so many loved ones.
