Matthew B. Voege

Matthew Brian Voege was born March 20, 1986, the son of Gary and Joanie Voege. He died on Sunday, June 8th, 2014, at Iowa City Hospital from complication of Cystic Fibrosis, he was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his death. Matthew was 28 years old.
Matthew grew up and attended the AR-WE-VA Community Schools and graduated in 2005. He worked for Caleries in Jefferson. He was united in marriage to Ashley Phinney on June 15th, 2013 and blessed with the addition of a son Javion. He resided in Jefferson and formerly of Westside.
Matthew enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and playing video games. He also enjoyed fishing in the area and taking the Minnesota Fishing trip with his dad, plus going to Disneyland with his parents. Matthew loved all kinds of music and going to concerts.
Matthew is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Grace; Uncle's Ray Miller and Uncle Joe Dimmitt.He is survived by his wife Ashley, son Javion; his parents Gary and Joanie, his Mother-in-law Maurine, brother-in-law Joe; Aunts, Uncles, and other relatives and friends.
As an act of kindness at the end Matthew graciously gave his lungs for research at Iowa City Hospital for the fight and cure of Cystic Fibrosis.
