Maxine Miller

Maxine Harriet Miller was born July 6, 1927, the daughter of Marx and Eura Kepford Gloe. She passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Eventide Nursing Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 85.
Maxine was born in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. She was baptized in Christ on June 10, 1928. Maxine moved with her family from South Dakota to a farm near Buck Grove, Iowa. She received her education in the Denison Community Schools graduating with the class of 1945. After high school she helped her father work on the farm.
On January 15, 1954, Maxine was united in marriage to Carl Miller in Marshalltown, Iowa. The couple farmed near Buck Grove, Iowa. Maxine took care of her household and was also employed at the Coma Chicken Factory in Carroll for awhile and then stayed at home to work on the farm with Carl. In 1983 they retired and moved to Denison.
Maxine enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Bingo. She was content spending time in her home and liked to watch stock car racing and the Iowa Hawkeyes on television. Maxine also followed the Denison races. Maxine was a member of the Denison Baptist Church.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in 1993; and one son, Ronnie; and one sister, Betty Miller. Survivors include one son, Rickie and his wife, Mary of Denison; one daughter-in-law, Jan of Morning Sun, Iowa; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
