Maynard Ohl

November 20, 1924 — February 27, 2014

Maynard Raymond Ohl was born November 20, 1924, the son of Nick and Emma Christiansen Ohl. He passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-nine.
Maynard was born in Dunlap, Iowa and received his education in a rural school near his home. On July 11, 1953, he was united in marriage to Adlyn Beerman at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Denison, Iowa by Rev. C.W. Schmidt. Maynard farmed with his dad until 1967 and then began constructing agriculture watersheds, terraces, and homes. He tried many things and failed at some, but he never gave up.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending activities and events they were involved in. He enjoyed planting and caring for trees and socializing with family and friends. In his leisure time he enjoyed polka dancing, spirited games, pool and watching Judge Judy, Billy Graham, Lawrence Welk and Family Feud. He had a sincere Christian faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior, which was evidenced in his kind and generous acts for the less privileged and everyone he knew.
