Michael James Hugeback was born on October 5, 1971, a twin son of Virgil and Nancy (Schwery) Hugeback at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Vail. Following graduation from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll with the class of 1990, he continued working for local farmers. Michael married Tracy Aldag on June 3, 1995 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron.
Michael was a self-employed jack of all trades. He was an excellent welder, carpenter and a simple man of many talents. He was a selfless friend who was willing to drop everything the moment anyone called needing his help, and he always had a Mt. Dew in his hand. Many called him if they couldn't figure something out and he would find a way to get it done. He was also a collector of all kinds of "good junk" that "he might be able to use someday". He took great pride in all of his handiworks and the appearance of how his projects turned out was important to him, some would say he was a perfectionist. Michael was a dedicated family man who enjoyed life and loved to crank up his stereo and wind the kids up dancing. He made it a tradition to pray with his family before meals and before going to sleep. Even at the time of his death, it seemed like he was always in the right place at the right time.
Michael passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Conception Abbey in Missouri at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Hugeback; his son, Austin Michael Hugeback on August 3, 2019; and sister-in-law, Colleen Hugeback. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tracy Hugeback of Wall Lake; five children: Samantha (Dave) Harrington, Garrett Hugeback, Cauy Hugeback, Bentley Hugeback, Quinlee Hugeback all of Wall Lake; three grandchildren: Foxx, Harper and Ronin Harrington; mother, Nancy Hugeback of Wall Lake; father-in-law, Ted (Marla) Aldag of Kiron; mother-in-law, Nancy (Herman) Kohnekamp of Kiron; siblings: Rose (Vern) Smith of Osage, Ann (Kim) Dunn of Spencer, Ron (LeAnn) Hugeback of Solon, Don Hugeback of Anchorage, Alaska, Marcy (Chris) Kaiser, Sara (Jim) Richardson, Ruth Hugeback, Verna (Aaron) Ellison all of Littleton, Colorado; aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
