Michelle Giermann

Michelle Diane Giermann was born March 3, 1959, the daughter of Milton and Marlene Giermann. She passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of fifty-five.
Michelle was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She was baptized by her grandfather, Rev. L.S. Winter on May 24, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron, Iowa and confirmed on April 7, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. She attended Denison Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1977. Michelle attended Iowa Lakes Community College before joining the Army, being discharged in 1979.
Michelle grew up on a farm near Kiron where she learned to love horses and horseback riding. She was a sincere Christian with a soft heart and good sense of humor that made her a joy to be around. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs and her home was always open to stray animals. She also had a love of music and played the clarinet and piano. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, camping with her family, hiking, and was a huge New York Giants fan. Steve Miller was her dear and sincere confidant and long lasting friend.
Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Milt Giermann; and one brother, Mark. Survivors include: her mother, Marlene; one daughter, Sarah and her husband, Robert; one granddaughter, Madeline Marie; one son, Jason and family; one daughter, Amanda and family; other relatives and many friends.
