Mildred Bohlmann

Mildred Ione Bohlmann was born October 19, 1919, to Leo and Caroline Hopp near Ricketts, Iowa. She died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of ninety-seven.
Mildred was baptized November 16, 1919, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township and was confirmed March 25, 1934, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township by Rev. Otto Von Gemmingen. She attended Lutheran school at Immanuel Soldier Township. After completing her education, she helped her family on the farm and other families.
On December 29, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer Bohlmann at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township by Rev. Schroeder. The couple made their first home on a farm near Ricketts and in 1949 moved to the farm north of Schleswig. In 1985, the couple moved into Schleswig. They were blessed with two children, Faylenne and Eugene. Mildred was truly a farm wife helping Elmer with chores, tending her large chicken flock, driving the tractor for planting and harvest or anything that needed done around the farm. Mildred liked to sew and embroidered many items and tending to her garden and flowers.
They were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig where Mildred took an active part in the Ladies Aid and the Quilters in the winter tying and sewing many quilts. She enjoyed her neighbors in sharing with visits and over a cup of coffee and, of course, something to eat. In 2011, she became a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison where she enjoyed the visits from her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eugene on July 4, 1951; by her husband, Elmer on May 16, 1996; her parents; one sister, Gladys; and two brothers, Edwin and Loren. Survivors include: her daughter, Faylenne and her husband, James; two grandsons, Steven and wife, Kelly and their children, Stephanie and Matthew; David and wife, Ann and their children, Rylee and twins Drew and Ellie; one sister, Lavina; four sisters-in-law, Florence, Marcella, Irma and Lois; nephews, nieces and many good friends and her friends at Eventide Home.
