Nancy Diane Burda was born in Kensington, Missouri, the daughter of Ernie and LaVaughn Kinman. She passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy.
Nancy graduated from Omaha South High School. After having 4 of her 5 children, Nancy attended college while working to support her family. She graduated from Kearney State College and began her teaching career. Nancy taught in various towns in Nebraska before moving to Iowa. She received her Masters Degree from Drake University while continuing to teach. Due to health reasons, she retired from teaching. Nancy worked at the Schleswig Library before mobility forced her to stay home.
Nancy was an avid reader. She loved books, and when books became too heavy, she was not far from her kindle. She loved visitors, looking forward to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy also loved to play cards, especially pinochle and pitch, with family and friends, always having plenty of snacks around the table.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tim; one grandson, Jonathan. She is survived by her husband, Tom; four children: Cindy and her husband, Dennis; Brian; Jeffrey and Chris; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
