Nancy Jean Werneburg

Nancy Jean Werneburg was born on June 26, 1959, to Shirley Puck. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. In 1978, Nancy graduated from Denison High School.

On April 12, 1986, Nancy was united in marriage to Roger Werneburg, Sr. in Carroll. For several years, she worked as a CNA in Ida Grove, Odebolt and Carroll.
Nancy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. She loved growing flowers, especially "Naked Ladies," taking rides, camping and sitting by the fire pit with her family and friends. Her biggest enjoyment was taking care of her mom, family and friends.

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, Nancy passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa, at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 22 days.

Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents Albert and Rosa Puck and three step-grandchildren: Tad Werneburg Jr., Ciara Werneburg and Nick Stone.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Werneburg Sr. of Ida Grove; her mom Shirley Puck of Denison; a daughter Deborah Puck and significant other, Travis Daniel of Carroll; three grandchildren: Kaleb and Lillian Sosa and Ella Puck; seven step-children: Sheila Clark of North Carolina; Tad Werneburg and wife Teresa of Creston; Roger Werneburg Jr. of Creston; Jamie Werneburg and wife Amanda of Osceola; Melissa Knapp and husband Josh of Creston; Jeremy Werneburg of Carroll; and Nathan Werneburg of Rolfe; eleven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; special cousin, Janice Boettger; family and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Interment will be in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
